More Pictures Of My Mom

I posted my parents' wedding picture the other day. Here is their 50th wedding anniversary picture. Finn asked if I looked like my mother. I do have a strong resemblance but I have my dad's blue blue eyes.

My mother made both of her granddaughters an afghan which she gave them when they graduated from HS. My oldest daughter wore her's out by using it so much in college so my mother gave her another. Many years before this, she made them each a quilt. The blocks were zig zagged and that was it. No sandwich or backing. Most, if not all, of the polyester fabrics were left overs of dresses she made for herself.

What lovely pictures Katie...I love that you have these old treasures. All my pictures of my mom, as well as her stories, end so abruptly in 1968, with her death at 52. It would be so lovely to see what she might have looked like at 60 or 65, as I am(til Oct *G*). But, alas, that was not to be.
A great pic of your mom with the quilt blocks. The love is the same no matter the technique..*VBS* Hugs, Finn
