I think those are a wonderful jumping off point. You need to scout around for some left over 9 patches, triangle units, 4 patches or anything you made up to try or test a block or pattern. Worse comes to worse, try your hand at some 6" stars or pinwheels or such. Just let go and play in the scraps in the basket...odd choices you might not otherwise use. Don't forget shoo-fly and churn dash..*VBS* Hugs, Finn
