Commercial Quilt
This may not count but...
I had this on my bed as a child and I think it is from the 1940's.

I'm not sure what you mean by a commercial quilt Katie. Maybe that it was made to be sold in a store? I'm pretty sure there weren't any outfits like today, where they mass produce them with cheap labor.
I think you were a very lucky little girl to have this quilt on your bed. In the 1940's into 1950's satin type comforters were gaining in popularity thanks to Hollywood, and blankets were more readily available and priced to sell.
This looks to me like it's hand quilted and probably with a cotton batting. The little tell tale lumps and bumps give away the cotton batt inside.

It isn't pieced and was not quilted by a person but that quilting is the mass produced kind. I won't have thought they had them then either but here it is. It is cotton.
